Organizational Profile

Established in October 1997, the Cambridge China Institute (CCI) sponsors focused, biweekly discussions among scholars, students, and professionals in the Greater Boston area with regard to key economic, political, cultural, and social issues in China in the context of a changing world order. CCI provides a unique opportunity for discussion of crucial issues related to China with government officials, scholars, and professionals from China and other parts of the world. CCI also serves as a place where members can receive updated information regarding important current developments in China. Institute members will make every attempt to re-examine basic assumptions regarding China and think practically and creatively about the Chinese society and its relations with the outside world. Jointly with the Harvard China Forum, CCI also publishes a semiannual journal, Harvard China Review (HCR). HCR provides another forum for the discussion of social issues related to China, and serves as a window for CCI members to express their views and disseminate their ideas.
