The winner of the first Yihong Xia Best Paper award, presented at the 2006 China International Finance Conference in Xi'an, is Dr. YANG Liu.  The title of her paper is "The Real Determinants of Asset Sales." Dr. Yang graduated from University of Maryland in 2006 with a Ph.D. in Finance, and joined the Anderson School of University of California, Los Angeles as an assistant professor of finance. This award is funded by the OYCF-Yihong Xia Memorial Fund.

In early 2005, the OYCF-Yihong Xia Memorial Fund was established in memory of the late talented Dr. Yihong Xia, an assistant professor of finance at University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, at the help of Yihong's friends and colleagues. The Fund is used to promote academic research in the area of finance in China and among Chinese.

OYCF is a U.S. based non-profit organization dedicated to promoting cooperation and exchange of ideas between China and the rest of the world, and it provides a forum for inter-disciplinary discussions of social, economic, political, legal and cultural issues relating to China and the Chinese.
