FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Overseas Young Chinese Forum (OYCF) is very pleased to announce that several institutions as well as individuals have recently made significant donations to OYCF’s teaching program in China.

In January 2002, the Ford Foundation agreed to grant $ 30,000 in total over the next three years to support OYCF's teaching program in law, humanities and social sciences in China.
In February 2002, partners of Jun He Law Offices, a prominent law firm in China, approved a grant of $2,000 to OYCF’s teaching program.

Several distinguished individuals have also recently made donations to OYCF’s teaching program.  Jiping Zhang and Jie Lan, both practicing attorneys in Hong Kong; Zack Liu and Jianxin Li, both bankers in Hong Kong; and Junling Ma, President-Elect of OYCF and a practicing attorney in California, also made generous donations to OYCF’s teaching program.

OYCF started its teaching program in November 2000 at Renmin University of China in Beijing.  By December 2001, OYCF has sponsored three teaching trips to Renmin University Law School, where three U.S. practicing attorneys have taught three courses in American securities and corporate law.  With the support from the above institutions and individuals, OYCF will be able to expand its teaching program to cover other fields of law as well as various fields in humanities and social sciences.  OYCF is in the process of raising additional funds to support this expansion.  In the next three years, OYCF is planning to send more than two dozen scholars and professionals from overseas to teach various subjects of law, humanities and social sciences in China, and the program will emphasize cross-disciplinary subjects and subjects in which there is a shortage of teachers in China.  For more information about OYCF’s teaching program, please visit http://www.oycf.org/Teach/teach.htm.

OYCF is a non-profit organization based in the United States.  Please contact info@oycf.org if you have questions concerning this news release.
