On June 11, 2003, Shanghai Institute of Law and Economics (SILE) and Overseas Young Chinese Forum (OYCF) signed an agreement with the Chinese University of Politics and Law Press in Beijing (CUPLP) for the publishing of a book series entitled "A Guide to Understanding Law and Economics."  Under the agreement, SILE and OYCF are responsible for proposing topics and organizing the writing and review of the books, and CUPLP is responsible for the publishing and distribution of such books.

The book series will consist of approximately 20-30 books covering various topics in economics and law.  Some of the titles include securities regulation, securitization, commercial credit system and capital market, mergers & acquisitions, the art of asset management, corporate governance, law of intellectual property, consumer credit system, project finance, venture capital financing, the economics of regulation, bankruptcy law, hedge fund, WTO and China, international monetary system in the 21st century, economic analysis of antitrust law, and the economics of law enforcement.  The first batch of books are expected to be published in 2004 with the remaining scheduled for 2005 and 2006.  

SILE is a non-governmental research institute founded in 2002 by a group of Chinese scholars in economics and law.  It is dedicated to the research in economics and law and their inter-relations in an effort to facilitate China's economic, legal and social reform.  For more information about SILE, please visit www.sile.org.cn.
