Perspectives, Vol. 2, No. 6

As we struggle through our day-to-day routines, it is important not to lose perspectives. For those who are concerned about the current problems besetting the world and particularly our beloved motherland, the significance of appropriate perspectives in coming up with effective solutions could not be overemphasized. This is exactly what this journal is dedicated to: providing meaningful perspectives to concerned people.

We hope that you will find this issue of Perspectives loyal to this commitment. In this issue, Mr. Dongsheng Zang will continue his discussion of the GATT/WTO anti-dumping jurisprudence. Ms. Xue Song, an economist at the Institute for Women's Policy Research, draws a big picture of the poverty and welfare reform in the United States. Professor Gregory Chow, one of our regular contributors, will review the Chinese economy in the 20th century.

Also in this issue, Ms. Yu Liu will finish comparing the Russian and Chinese reforms, and Mr. Nalin Ranasinghe will explore the relevance of philosophy to the modern world in a thought-provoking article. You will also find in this issue a summary of OYCF's 2001 retreat.

As always, we encourage you to send us your comments or suggestions at oycf_editor@oycf.org or post them directly on OYCF's online BBS at http://www.oycf.org/oycfbb.htm.
