Guidelines for Submitting Articles to the Perspectives

The Perspectives welcomes submissions of articles in law, humanities and social sciences, especially those that have particular bearings on China's current development.

Please submit an electronic copy of your manuscript as an email attachment, preferably in Microsoft Word, to editor@oycf.org. The format should conform to the requirements described at http://www.oycf.org/Perspectives/Perspectives_Style_Guide_En.doc (for English articles) or http://www.oycf.org/Perspectives/Perspectives_Style_Guide_Ch.doc (for Chinese articles). We acknowledge the receipt of articles and notify authors of the decision by email.

The Perspectives carefully considers all submissions that it receives. Our review process involves reviews of at least two editors for each submission: a Co-Editor who is responsible for the issue (the Executive Editor) and a Referee (who may be a Column Editor) who specializes in the relevant subject. The Referee normally reviews a submission anonymously, without regard to the author's name, affiliation or prior publications. However, we encourage direct and constructive interactions between the Referee and the author regarding revisions, but only with the prior approval from both the Referee and the author. The Executive Editor makes editorial decisions based on his/her own review and the Referee Report, with the discretion of calling upon another Referee to provide further opinions and consulting with other Co-Editors when there is a controversy. The Executive Editor has the final authority on deciding whether to accept an article or not. We make every effort to improve the article with the author and sometimes articles go through several rounds of review and revision before publication.

We encourage exclusive submissions, but also accept articles of high quality that have previously been published elsewhere. We acknowledge the previous publication of the article in the latter case.

The Perspectives has both an English edition and a Chinese edition, each of which is published quarterly. The English edition is published at the end of the first month of each quarter and the Chinese edition is published at the end of the last month of each quarter. We encourage contributors to submit articles as soon as they are ready and we will make our best efforts to aim the received submission for the earliest issue possible, subject to the review requirement.

Thank you for your interest in the Perspectives.
